Inmate Mail and Telephone

MAIL

Inmates can receive and send mail on the post office’s normal business days.

Incoming mail should be addressed to the inmate at the Adair County Sheriff’s Office address of:

  • 215 N. Franklin, Kirksville, MO 63501.

A full name of the person sending the mail and a full return address must be included on the envelope.

Please note that all mail sent to the Detention Center is screened for contraband and appropriateness, and if deemed inappropriate, will be placed in the inmate’s property bag until he/she is released from custody and/or handled as deemed necessary. Please use good judgment when sending any letter or picture to an inmate.

OUTGOING TELEPHONE CALLING

While the Detention Center does not accept incoming calls for inmates, inmates are able to make outgoing calls through our contractor, Custom Tele-Connect. Inmates are provided a unique PIN number which allows them to make collect phone calls from their housing unit.  A person wishing to pay for minutes to be placed upon an inmate’s phone account may do so by utilizing any one of the three methods listed below.

General Information:

 Phone minutes are purchased in packages.  Examples of these packages are: 

                                    $10.00 = 20 Minutes of calling time

                                    $ 25.00 = 50 Minutes of calling time

                                    $ 50.00 = 100 Minutes of calling time

                                    $100.00 = 200 Minutes of calling time

This includes a transaction/processing fee of $4.50.  For domestic calls only.

Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted.  Most prepaid credit cards will be accepted such as those sold at Wal-Mart.

Method 1:

You can go online at  www.prepaidinmate.com  24-hours a day, seven days a week, and  place minutes on an account.  You will need a credit card number when this is done.

Method 2:

You can call 1-866-898-5880 from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM Central Time, Monday thru Friday. This office may be closed on holidays.

Method 3:

Bank Cashier’s Checks or Money Orders in the amount of any of the packages listed above in General Information, may be mailed to:
